Conveying Body
According to the conveying material and demand, the common types include:
Belt Type Turning Conveying Line:
adopts loop belt as conveying medium, good flexibility, suitable for conveying small and light parts (such as electronic components, boxes).
Roller type turning conveyor line:
It is composed of several sets of rollers, which are inclined at a certain angle (e.g. conical roller), utilizing friction or differential speed to realize turning, and is suitable for conveying pallets, boxes and other heavier items.
Chain plate turning conveyor line:
using chain plate as carrier, with strong load bearing capacity, suitable for conveying heavy workpieces or high temperature, oil pollution environment (such as automobile parts).
Turning section structure:
usually curved design, equipped with internal guiding devices (e.g. guardrail, retaining edge) to ensure that the material remains stable during turning to avoid deflection or slipping.
Driving system
consists of motor, reducer, coupling, etc., driving the conveying body to run, the speed of turning section and straight section should be matched to ensure smooth conveying.
Supporting and guiding device
The frame is made of aluminum alloy, stainless steel or steel, and side baffles, guardrails or guiding rollers are set up at the turning point to prevent the materials from tipping over or getting out of the conveying line.
Working Principle
Through the continuous operation of the conveying body (belt, roller, chain plate, etc.), the material is brought from the straight section to the turning section. Turning section through the following ways to realize the steering:
Differential speed principle:
turn inside and outside of the conveyor speed is different (such as roller turning line inside the roller speed is slower, faster outside), the use of the speed difference to make the material to complete the 90-degree turn.
Guiding constraints:
through the guardrail, baffle or guide rail to limit the trajectory of the material, forcing it to turn along the arc path.

(II) Classification by control mode
Manual adjustment type:
suitable for production lines with fixed product specifications, turning speed and guiding device need to be preset manually.
Automatic adjustment type:
equipped with sensors and intelligent control system, it can automatically adjust the turning parameters (e.g. speed, guiding strength) according to the material size and weight.
Selection and design points
Material characteristics:
according to the weight, size and shape of the choice of conveying medium (such as light and small parts of the choice of belt, large parts of the choice of roller).
Turning radius:
need to be determined according to the size of the material, too small a radius may lead to material dumping (generally recommended turning radius ≥ 2 times the length of the material).
Conveying speed:
match with the speed of the front and rear sections to avoid blockage or accumulation.
Environmental requirements:
anti-static (electronic workshop), high temperature (baking line), waterproof (food cleaning line) and other special needs to be specified in advance.
